Q. I've heard people talk about grants, but I'm not sure it's for us. Who can apply for grants?
A. ANY not-for-profit organization can seek grant funding. In some cases, even individuals can get a grant.

Q. That's fine, but no one in our organization has ever written a grant, we wouldn't know where to begin. Is this workshop for us?
A. Absolutely! The workshop is designed to take a complete novice and produce a competent grant writer at the end of the day. Q. What are some of the things organizations typically write a grant for?
A. Grant funding is available for everything from a new building to a new bus. Some organizations get grant funding for a new program, including the staff to run it. Or it may be something as small as workbooks for an after-school tutoring program, or frisbees for a church's youth outreach. Q. This sounds great, but I'm not a very good writer – should I still attempt grant writing?
A. Yes, anyone can write a grant proposal. However, Dr. Moucka encourages organizations to form a grant writing team consisting of a writer, a researcher, a greeter, and an administrator. Q. We're not a 501(c)3, can we still apply for a grant?

Q. Will I get any helpful materials I can take home?
A. Yes. Every participant receives a 65 page workbook that covers everything in the workshop.
